At the ABOA AGM there were changes announced to the application process for National Appointments.
First, the limitations to what Nationals you can apply to were removed and aligned with the NOCP levels required. For example, for your first National you previously had to apply for a Summer National at the U15 or U17 categories. Theoretically you can now apply for any National provided you meet the NOCP level that CABO requires.
The deadline to submit your applications for this summer’s appointments has been extended to midnight on Monday, April 30.
This summer ABOA has three (3) appointments as follows:
U15 Boys in Sherbrooke July 31 – Aug 5 – One (1) appointment - Minimum NOCP Level 2 or equivalent
U17 Boys in Sherbrooke July 31 – Aug 5 – One (1) appointment – Minimum NOCP Level 3 or equivalent which includes 3 person experience
U17 Girls in Fredericton Aug 6 – 11 – One (1) appointment – Minimum NOCP Level 3 or equivalent which includes 3 person experience
In each case travel days will be the day before and after. ABOA will make these selections prior to May 31.
Additionally, details will be announced shortly about the Alberta Summer Games in Lethbridge July 26 – 29. ABOA is still confirming details regarding travel and expense arrangements. ABOA’s hope is to be able to send officials from each of the 8 zones for both Girls & Boys U15 competitions. Check back to this site or www.refalberta.ca for final details in the next two weeks.
Finally, be sure to mark Sept 21 – 23 in Calgary on your calendars for the ABOA Provincial Clinic.
